I designed seven sets of costumes for the Merce Cunningham Dance Company, including Cunningham’s final work in 2009 and the closing performances of the company in 2011, which are now part of the permanent collection of the Walker Art Center. I have also collaborated with other artists in the performance world.

My goal with each set of Cunningham costumes is to create an overall look while still giving each dancer their own identity.  I enjoyed seeing how the costumes interacted depending on who was on stage together as, typical of Merce's work, I did not know the choreography ahead of time.
